The CANNES VOLONTAIRES association offers residents of Cannes and the wider PACA region a unique opportunity to take part in organizing events in Cannes.
The program comprises four key stages: the call for applications, a meeting with the association, training, and the on-site assignment during the event.
The overall goal is to enable residents of Cannes and the surrounding area to play an active role in the success of regional events and to gain training in event-related roles, thereby enhancing the spectator experience.
After submitting their applications online via the association’s website, shortlisted candidates will participate in a single motivational interview session, during which they will speak with members of the association. The members will then assess how well each candidate’s profile aligns with the various available positions.
The only restriction concerns the candidate’s age. They must be at least 18 years old by the time of the event.
Two types of training sessions will be organized (theoretical and practical on-site).
The primary objective is to help volunteers develop the necessary skills—building on their individual strengths—to deliver an event that offers a high-quality spectator experience.
Confidence, empowerment, enthusiasm, and team spirit are among the values that volunteers will need to embody.
The list of available positions is always subject to change, but here are some examples of roles common to all international-scale events:
Information for participants: Provide spectators with accurate details regarding the services offered, transportation, and the event itself. Recommended for those who are articulate and friendly.
Spectator guidance: guiding spectators from their point of arrival to the entrance of the competition venue. Several groups will be stationed at key locations across Cannes. Recommended for our most mobile and enthusiastic volunteers.
Access control: checking tickets at the venue entrance with the support of security personnel. A role recommended for our most vigilant and observant volunteers—but always with a smile.
Spectator seating: once inside the competition venue, volunteers will need to direct and distribute spectators across the stands. Recommended for the most quick-thinking and organized volunteers.
Accessibility: assisting people with reduced mobility. Recommended for everyone.
